The 4 Wing community is a diverse one, a school serving that community is a necessity.

I would like to address the letter of Col Wheeler it seems to me that for the last number of years that the community that he is refering to would be the same community that we all live in and that is Cold Lake since the amalgamation of the tri towns of Medley, Cold lake, and Grand Center. We are all apart of the same community and by insisting that the 4 Wing area of the city needs to maintain a seperate school from the rest of the city only succeeds in driving a wedge between our city to further produce a devision between the people of "4 wing" and the rest of the city. What is the price we wish to pay for this school?

i personally think that the school should be left opened. there had been 2 schools already close on the base. the children need at least 1 school to attend.

can't say employment reason Said:

I would like to address the mayors comment about the shortage of doctors and new equipment in cold lake. He said it is up to the provincial government to do something about it. So the city would rather spend $10 million+ on a additional rink attached to a building the residents didnt want in the beginning. If the city council put the 10 million into the hospital or a walk in clinic that is needed, they would be respected. I am pretty sure people wouldnt mind their taxes increasing a small amount if it was going towards their families well being. Instead of the provincial government stepping up to the plate it is now up to the residents and a funderaising committee asking businesses for money. Why is it not the other way around? The city pays for the hospitals needs and the businesses and residents raise money for the rink? Only one answer to that question because people won't pay for the rink. Also another thing the mayor had said was "if u drive by the energy centre it is full of people using the facility. People wouldnt want a park destroyed for a Mcdonalds but after it was built people would still us it.
The city council's before this one didnt spend money but that doesnt excuse stupid spending. The double lane highway is being built by the alberta government so why doesnt 10 million go towards the back roads of the community? Everywhere in this town needs new roads, are we living in alberta or saskatchewan? kind of hard to tell
